Winnaleah’s water supply is part of the Ringarooma Valley Water Scheme, which has been designed to deliver fully treated, high quality water to residents in Winnaleah, Ringarooma, Legerwood, Branxholm, and Derby.

In completing this Scheme, TasWater has laid more than 30 kilometres of new pipeline, as well as constructing a new water treatment plant at Ringarooma. Treated water reservoirs are also being installed at Branxholm, Derby and Ringarooma to supply drinking water to all five towns in the Scheme.

After a period of rigorous testing, the Department of Health and Human Services lifted Winnaleah’s Do Not Consume notice on 10 August 2017.
