Derby’s water supply is part of the Ringarooma Valley Water Scheme, which has been designed to deliver fully treated, high quality water to residents in Derby, Ringarooma, Legerwood, Branxholm, and Winnaleah.

More than 30 kilometres of new pipeline has been laid, and a new water treatment plant constructed at Ringarooma. Treated water reservoirs are also being installed at Derby, Ringarooma, and Branxholm to supply the five towns in the scheme.

After a period of rigorous testing, the Department of Health lifted Derby’s Boil Water Alert on 7 August 2017.
