Rocky Creek System

The Rocky Creek System supplies approximately 460 TasWater customers in Ranelagh, Huonville, Grove, Crabtree and Rocky Creek in the state’s south. Supplied by the Rocky Creek, the system was previously subject to a Boil Water Alert (BWA).

The solution

After careful analysis of various options, TasWater built a new water treatment plant (WTP) at the existing Rocky Creek Dosing Station site to supply customers with water that meets Australian Drinking Water Guidelines. The new system also draws from Rocky Creek, and utilises a new service reservoir near the Rocky Creek Weir to store the treated water, which includes the addition of chlorine and fluoride.

If you receive water from the Rocky Creek System, don’t hesitate to go to and look at the issues and options for your community.
